Senior Psychology Student Publishes Book with Local Historical Society
Chestnut Hill College to Hold Book Signing for Student Publication

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Chestnut Hill College will host a book signing for
senior Rachel Hildebrandt, co-author of “The Philadelphia Architecture of Horace
Trumbauer” (2009, Arcadia Publishing) on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 1:30-2:30
p.m. in the Social Room of Fournier Hall. Copies of Ms. Hildebrandt’s
book will be available for purchase for $20 at the event.
Architect Horace Trumbauer
(1868–1938) was a prominent American architect known for a wide range of
residential, commercial, and civic structures that he designed in and around the
Philadelphia area. “The Philadelphia Area Architecture of Horace Trumbauer”
showcases the architect’s most significant works, including the Philadelphia
Museum of Art, the Keswick Theatre, the Widener Building, Whitemarsh Hall,
Lynnewood Hall, and Ardrossan.
Rachel Hildebrandt ’09 is a psychology major at
Chestnut Hill College with special interests in architecture and history. A
Philadelphia native, Ms. Hildebrandt collaborated with the Old York Road
Historical Society to study and propagate the history of the communities along
and adjacent to Old York Road. She has culled many of the vintage photographs in
the book from the society’s collection of images.
