Greenfield Mansion Sustains Fire Damage

Release Date: Friday, December 4, 2009

While conducting a routine foot patrol this morning of the College’s SugarLoaf property, an Allied Barton security guard discovered smoke and flames coming from the rear of the Greenfield mansion.

All students living in the Lodge residence hall on the property were safely evacuated and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical in nature and the Mansion sustained damage that is limited to the first floor dining room area.

Students have since been allowed to move back into the Lodge.
