Wednesday, April 21, 2010
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Chestnut Hill College will offer a Digital Forensics Track for undergraduate students in the Information Technology program beginning in the fall of 2010
The new Digital Forensics track will allow students to pursue ACE certification in Computer Forensics while completing their undergraduate degree in computer and information technology. The program will be offered to students who plan to graduate in 2014 or later. The new track includes Introduction to Computer Forensics, Legal Issues in Computer Forensics I and II, Technical Writing in Computer Forensics, and Advanced Computer Forensics.
Digital Forensics involves extracting evidence from computers or digital devices to be used in legal proceedings and court cases and interpreting their meaning. According to a study by Institute for Security Technology Studies at Dartmouth College, there is an increased need for digital forensics professionals, and that the need for this type of work will grow as more cybercrime is discovered.
