Commuter Life

Commuters at CHC come from all over the Greater Philadelphia Area. Whether by bus, train, or car, our regionally diverse commuter population contributes a great deal to our vibrant community. As a commuter at CHC, you have the wonderful opportunity to get involved, challenge yourself academically and meet new friends from places both near and far. Check out the commuter resources below to learn more about what it means to commute to CHC.

Commuter Club

All commuters are members of the Commuter Club. The Commuter Club is a student organization run for commuters by commuters. The Commuter Club hosts monthly meetings, fun events in the Commuter Lounge, hosts a Commuter Appreciation Week each semester and acts as the voice the Commuter population. Interested in getting involved? Contact Allie Fusco, Club President at FuscoA@chc.edu.

Commuter Lounge

Located on the Ground Floor of St. Joseph Hall near the bookstore, the Commuter Lounge is the number one destination spot for students looking for a place to study or relax in between classes. The lounge features WIFI, tables, couches, vending machines, Campus Television and advertising about commuter events. Many Commuter Club events are also hosted in the lounge.

Lockers

Commuter students are eligible to “rent” lockers from CHC, each academic year. Students may sign up for a locker in the Student Activities Office (SJ 349). There is no cost for using a locker and the “rental” includes a lock. Lockers for commuters are located in the Griffin’s Den in Fournier Hall. Lockers are available on a first- come, first-served basis.

Parking

Commuter students are eligible for parking on campus starting during their first year. All vehicles operated and parked on College property by full- and part-time students, faculty, staff and vendors must be registered with the College. Students can get their permits online at www.thepermitstore.com; enter Chestnut Hill College as the parking destination. Permits are available 24 hours a day and should be acquired before the beginning of the school year. Parking regulations will be enforced beginning the second full week of school. Registrations must be renewed at the beginning of each academic year starting August 15th.
