There will be wizardry and wonder in the air October 17-18 as Chestnut Hill College and the town once again transforms itself into Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley for the Harry Potter Festival.  Chestnut Hill College hosts the Harry Potter Conference on Friday, October 17th, a concert by Harry and the Potters Friday night, and the 5th Annual Philadelphia Brotherly Love Quidditch Cup Tournament on Saturday October 18th from 10am – 6pm.

Friday, October 17th 

The Harry Potter Conference – The Harry Potter Conference is an annual academic conference held at Chestnut Hill College.  This interdisciplinary conference provides forums for scholarly presentations arising out of J.K Rowling’s series. The main portion of the conference will occur from 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. in the Rotunda with a key note address given at 5:30 p.m. Before this, there is a high school section of the conference from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The conference is free and open to the public. Learn more.

 

Harry and the Potters Concert - Known as one of the founders of the wizard rock genre, Harry and the Potters use music to "fight evil" and to just have a great time. The band will join us in Sorgenti Arena on Friday night, 7 pm,  to bring their unique style as a kick-off to the Quidditch tournament on Saturday. Saturday, October 18th 

The Fifth Annual Philadelphia Brotherly Love Quidditch Cup Tournament - The event that brought Harry Potter weekend to the College is once again back for its fifth installment. Please join the CHC community as we welcome club and college teams from across the East Coast to participate in the sport that combines dodgeball, basketball and rugby in a fast-paced and exciting game that is sure to entertain all ages. The free to attend and open to the public tournament begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning and lasts until 6:00 p.m. at which time a champion will be crowned. Please join us!

Activities in the Chestnut Hill Neighborhood

 

Throughout the Chestnut Hill neighborhood, a weekend of spellbinding events and fun-filled festivities will keep children and adults, wizards and muggles entertained. On Friday evening, adult wizards and muggles are invited to join the Harry Potter pub crawl. Little wizards can enjoy a variety of activities at the festival, from the Straw Maze at Woodmere Art Museum to the Hunt for the Horcrux!
