College Inducts Students into the Phi Sigma Iota International Honor Society

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Foreign Language and Literature Department at Chestnut Hill College celebrated its first induction of twelve new members into the Phi Sigma Iota International Honor Society at a ceremony held on March 30, 2011.

Phi Sigma Iota recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the study or teaching of academic fields related to foreign language, literature, or culture. Students are eligible to become members of Phi Sigma Iota if they hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher, have completed 45 semester hours, have completed at least one course in a foreign language at the third-year level or equivalent, and are in the top 35 percent of their class.
