The transition to college is fun and exciting, but can also present its own unique challenges. Preparing for college is more than just academics and testing. Being emotionally ready creates the greatest opportunity for success, which is why JED has created the SET TO GO program for new students. Visit their site today to learn more!
New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation & Griffin Day
At CHC, we know that the transition to college is a big one, which is why we have a two part orientation experience for all new students: Orientation and Griffin Day!
New Student Orientation is a mandatory event for first-year and transfer students to learn about and prepare for life at Chestnut Hill College. Staff in the Division of Student Life design orientation to create a smooth starting process as new Griffins along with students’ parents, guardians, and support systems. Orientation offers fun activities, educational programs, and the introduction to helpful resources, all supported by staff, faculty, and peer Orientation Leaders who will help new students navigate the orientation program and the start of their time at CHC!
Orientation occurs at the end of August for new students beginning in the fall semester and mid-January for new students beginning in the spring semester. New Student Orientation offers the perfect mix of preparing new students for their CHC careers and building the community of peers that can become lifelong friends and connections!
August 2025 orientation weekend will run from August 22 to August 24.
During the summer, we also host Griffin Day, a mandatory pre-orientation event that gives insight about student life and academics at CHC prior to your official arrival. Incoming students connect with their student support teams and advisors to complete all placements tests, discuss financial plans, and begin meeting their new classmates!
We are hosting two Griffin Days during the summer of 2025 – June 18 and July 31. Incoming students and their families only need to attend one of the days. International students are not required to attend Griffin Day.
For more information on the schedule or if you have any questions, visit my.chc.edu or contact orientation@chc.edu.
