CHC Graduate, Mike Melnychenko '14, Selected in Sixth Round of National Lacrosse League Draft

 After four historic seasons (2011-2014) with the Chestnut Hill College men’s lacrosse team, Michael Melnychenko ’14 (St. Catharines, Ontario) will continue his career at the professional level. The College’s all-time leader in nearly every offensive category and now the first to be drafted into a professional league, Melnychenko was selected by the Buffalo Bandits with the 49th overall pick (sixth round) in the 2014 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Draft at Toronto Rock Athletic Centre on Monday, September 22.

Chestnut Hill College Hosts Book Discussion and Signing by Renowned Author, Dan Rottenberg

Chestnut Hill College welcomes Dan Rottenberg, author of “The Outsider, Albert M. Greenfield and the Fall of the Protestant Establishment,” to discuss the book and sign copies. The event takes place Thursday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m. on the College’s SugarLoaf Hill campus. In 2006, CHC bought the 30-acre Sugarloaf Estate from the Albert M. Greenfield Foundation for $11 million, doubling the size of its campus.

As part of its legacy conference series, Chestnut Hill College will host “The Legacy of World War I: An Interdisciplinary Conference,” on Friday and Saturday, November 14 and 15, 2014. The conference, which was organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War, while highlighting the significant changes still felt from its aftermath to this day, is open to the public and will be held at the Commonwealth Chateau, on the College’s SugarLoaf Hill campus.  Registration is required.
